Coronavirus Free School Meals

For parents/carers who have children in receipt of Free School Meals

Update 13th July 2020

Due to the unprecedented nature of the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, the government recognises that families will face increased pressure on household budgets over the coming months. That is why they have put in place a Covid Summer Food Fund which will enable children who are eligible for benefits-related free school meals to be supported over the summer holiday period. The payments for the Covid Summer Food Fund will be met centrally by DfE and will take the form of a one off payment of £90 per child eligible for Free School Meals. These have been ordered and will be e mailed to parents on 17th July in the same way that parents have received their vouchers so far.
If you receive your vouchers through the post you will have already had a letter explaining how you will receive your vouchers.

Update: Wednesday 29/4/2020.    From Endenred UK:
Some of you may have experienced some slow running of the administrator online ordering website and the eCode redemption website on 27th/28th April due to an identified issue with the system.

This also means that many people were experiencing 'Invalid eCode' error messages on the eCode redemption website.
We'd like to apologise for any inconvenience caused and reassure you that our teams have worked hard to deploy a solution which has now rectified the problem.
Anyone trying to redeem an eCode received on 2th and 28th April and receiving error messages can now try again.

Update: Wednesday 23/4/2020.  We are aware that there has been an inconsistent delivery of the vouchers ordered from Edenred. These were ordered correctly by the school following the process specified and should have been issued weekly starting on Friday 10th April.  But as you may have seen on the BBC News there was a delay in this process due to the overwhelming demand placed on the national Edenred website. 

We understand that the first set of vouchers have now been sent to all families.  However, we believe that there is a delay in the weekly release timings so that vouchers may not arrive each Friday - please keep checking as your voucher should arrive within the following days. Please note that these codes are only valid for a month, so we urge you to redeem them as soon as you are able to.   We also understand that Aldi has now joined the scheme along with most of the other major supermarkets.

Update: Tuesday 15/04/2020. We believe that Edenred have now issued eCodes via email to you.  Please check your junk mail if they have not come through.

As you are aware the Government has requested that we make alternative arrangements for students in receipt of Free School Meals, whilst we remain closed due to the Coronavirus pandemic.  To support this, the Government has launched a Free School Meal Voucher Scheme provisioned via Edenred, allowing families to purchase food from most supermarkets.  From 10th April the voucher will be sent to you weekly via Edenred by e mail.   We have identified those parents/carers who do not have access to e mail and will post the voucher to them.

Please be reassured that we will continue to provide for your child/ren in this manner for as long as it is needed.
