Parent Online - MOODLE

All school reports are available via our MOODLE system.

Letters have been sent to parents/carers providing details of how to gain access, together with MOODLE logon account usernames.
An email is sent to the email address we hold on file containing an initial password.
Once you have received both of these, you can log on to MOODLE, to view information about your child/children here at The Blue.

Please use the links below to review the Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) and MOODLE User Guide.

Changing your MOODLE password

To change your MOODLE account password please use the 'self-service' feature by clicking on the "Forgotten your Username or Password?" link on the Moodle logon screen
It is recommended you choose a password that has a minimum of 8 characters, contains at least one capital letter, one lower case letter and one number (or symbol if you wish).

Parental Responsibility
You are permitted to use the MOODLE facility only if you have parental responsibility for the relevant child/children.

If you are unsure about whether you have Parental Responsibility, as defined by the government, please use the link below.

Notes about viewing WORD format documents

Please be aware that we are only able to publish student reports in MOODLE using a particular Microsoft Word format. Below you will find some useful information about how to view these reports using different types of device.

Windows PCs and Apple Mac computers (Chromebook should also work but is untested)
If you are using either of these types of system, without an installed full version of the Microsoft Word application, or a previously installed version of the free Microsoft Word viewer (now withdrawn by Microsoft), then in order to view school reports downloaded from MOODLE, you will need to use a suitable alternative viewer application.

As of April 2018, the recommended method is to use a free Dropbox cloud account. The report file can be downloaded from MOODLE, then uploaded into Dropbox and opened using the integral document viewer.

Android tablet
device users can get a copy of the Microsoft Word app from the Play Store, which is free to use as a viewer.

Apple iOS
device users
The newest version of the free Microsoft Word viewer can now display student reports. It is available to download and install from the App Store.
In Moodle navigate to the student report and select download and when the new tab appears with a display error, select 'Open in "Word"' (see below).  Note that you may need to refresh page if this option disappears.
