It is very important for our new students to look forward to being a part of The Blue school community.
We have therefore devised a transition programme that involves the following:

In April parents of all Y7 students who have been offered a place receive a letter outlining the transition process.

From May our Head of Year 7 and where appropriate Mrs K Mellish, our Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator (SENCo), undertake a range of visits to the primary schools to introduce themselves and to meet the students.

The KS3 Welcome Booklet is published in June prior to an Information Evening given here at The Blue.
This booklet contains all the vital information you need to prepare yourself and your child for September.

An Induction Day will be held in July. During this day your child will have the opportunity to experience a range of taster sessions and will meet their Tutor.

An Information Evening will be held in July where a presentation will be given by the Headteacher, Steve Jackson.
You will have the opportunity to ask questions as well as order your child’s first cashless catering card, (Smartcard) for use in our food outlets.
We will also ask you to sign the Permissions Requests form (for the use of student images, ICT facilities and services and participation in routine off-site activities) during this meeting.
